Buffalo Bills’ quarterback Vince Young has moved the New York state Supreme Court to seek protection against a company chase for recovery of $1.7 high-risk loan. The company has laid a claim of payment default on the player and is embarked upon to recover
the money irrespective of the fact that he denies to have made a request for such a loan himself.
Vince, who is already in trouble with his former agent Major Adams and financial advisory firm Ronnie T. Peoples, said that he is being chased and harassed by the company’s officials for the recovery in spite of the fact that the case stands disputed.
The QB has already sacked his agent and the advisory firm and took both in the court over an allegation of ripping him off his money during the tenure they worked for him.
According to the latest filing in the court, a lawyer of the player has claimed that his client has been approached by the company officials asking for payment of the loan. He has requested the court to issue an order for protection of his client.
A couple of days ago, the player in his reply through his attorney said he had no knowledge if he had sought a loan himself or deposited an affidavit with his signature on it. His lawyer said the company had directly dealt with Ronnie Peoples firm.
While the firm accepted they had processed the loan application, they said the player was duly involved in the process and that he had direct knowledge of it.
As per details emerged so far, the player had allegedly acquired a loan of $1.7 million, carrying hefty interest rate of 20 percent. The player is accused of missing a payment due in May this year on the loan.
The company has got a ruling from the Supreme Court for repayment of the loan including interest, which has soared due to the default of payment.
Young has expressed complete surprise over the claims and through his attorney rejected them straightaway. While the player is trying to stay focused to his training and preseason phase with Bills, he is expected to face some disturbance as result of the
uncertainty and confusion attached to the legal wrangling.
