Buffalo Bills’ Torell Troup to undergo back surgery on Friday – NFL News
Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Torell Troup is scheduled to have a back surgery later this week. Troup said that the surgery was necessary to repair a fracture that has occurred in his spine.
Talking to the Associated Press, the lineman said that he was hopeful of returning to the team in 2012. He said that the injury would take around three months time to heal. Troup also revealed that a back problem had been troubling
him since the training camps commenced. He said that he would soon be fine.
Troup had been put on the season ending injured reserve list following a back problem. Defensive end Lionel Dotson had been brought in at the moment as a replacement. With Troup’s exit, the number of players to be added on the
IR list increased to nine.
"I'm ready to get this over so I can be the player I was in the preseason. Will feel good to not be in pain everyday." Troup stated on his twitter account. Troup informed that he would undergo a surgery on Friday.
With nine players added to the IR list, the Bills defence has fared poorly conceding an average of 32 points in the past six games. The Bills have gone on to miss their key players Fred Jackson and Eric Wood. The absence of these
running back and centre has battered the Buffalo offense putting their quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in a weak position.
Also adding to the woes of Bills are Steve Johnson and Scott Chandler who are suffering from injuries. Johnson has sustained shoulder and groin injuries while Chandler has a sore left ankle.
Roscoe Parrish and Donald Jones have been added to the IR list as well. Parrish sustained a left ankle injury playing against the Oakland raiders while Jones has injured his ankle.
The poor show by the Bills recently therefore does not come as a surprise in the midst of so many injuries. Also worsening the scenario is the poor performance by Fitzpatrick. It is quite evident that he is unable to perform in
the absence of key players and is missing their support. Even Bills Head Coach Chan Gailey came forward saying the whole team needed to show consistency.
