Buffalo Bills head coach Chan Gailey deeply unsatisfied with his team’s performance – NFL News
Buffalo Bills have been battered during the last two games and their head coach Chan Gailey is fuming with frustration as he tries to look for possible solutions of enormous problems his team is currently entangled in.
Talking to WGR 550 radio on Monday, October 08, 2012, Gailey expressed his displeasure about the mentality of his team when they take on tough opponents. Gailey said:
“I think you keep searching. You’re not beat until you quit. You’re only beat if you quit. So as long as you’re fighting and you’re working and that’s for every Joe Blow that’s out there. You can be down and you can be out a little bit, but if you keep fighting
you’ve got a chance to solve problems.”
Bills have absorbed two of their three biggest ever losses in a row this season. During these two games, the defence gave away a total of 97 points.
During their Week 4 game against New England Patriots, the defence gave away a massive 45 points in the second half and lost the game 28-52.
Gailey said after their Week 5 game against San Francisco 49ers that he is searching for answers. Bills lost that game 45-3.
The coach is certainly worried about the way their expensive defence has played. So much was expected from the defensive team when they added defensive end Mario Williams for a whopping $100 million contract earlier this year. Gailey carried on and said:
“What you have to do is you have to figure out what’s the biggest problem and what do you solve first and you go there and start chipping away at it. You can’t fix everything at one time, but you’ve got to fix something.”
Now that Williams is complaining about wrist injury while the team has not mentioned him in injury report, it brings more problems to Gailey and company as the league office is investigating this issue for foul play.
Gailey needs to get the answer from his players sooner, otherwise this season might become his last as Bills head coach. Bills play their next game against Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, October 14.
