Buffalo Bills lock in WR T.J. Graham, all rookies hit training camp from July 26 – NFL News
The Buffalo Bills announced they have signed all their rookies selected in different rounds off the 2012 National Football League (NFL) draft held in April.
As many as nine players are recruited by Bills this year and with the final signing of wide receiver T.J. Graham all rookies are under contract.
This has helped the team to fulfil the mandatory requirement of the professional league regulator, National Football League (NFL), which requires the teams to sign all draft players by the training camp as maximum.
A particularly facilitating factor now is that the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) has clearly defined rookies’ contract clauses. This has made all pertaining matters very clear to the teams and players' agents.
Graham was selected in third round of the draft. Irrespective of his draft position, he appears set to get the starting role straightaway.
Graham’s speed is his main strength and he has already won confidence of the coaches for the starting position, becoming an integral part of the team’s offence.
Bills’ offence, led by the starter Stevie Johnson, is expected to get boost from Graham’s presence in the downfield spot. At the moment, the team lacks the required threat at the position and selection of the rookie was orchestrated by the managers while
keeping that weakness in mind.
A number of commentators say that the addition of the receiver in the squad should complement the team’s efforts to bolster their offence, which at the moment is not as strong as the defence.
Hiring of Mario Williams off the Houston Texans’ waiver has increased Bills’ defence strength manifold but the team required at least a pair of players to serve their offensive need.
Irrespective of the question about the future form of Graham, the player’s presence creates a balance on the position.
Graham is coming out of the North Carolina State School. He was the second-best in the history of the school with 99 catches for 1,453 yards. Another plus of the player is that he is also a return specialist.
Bills are opening training camp from July 26, and the signing of Graham has made sure that the team is heading to the camp with all the rookies on the active roster.
