Buffalo Bills plagued by injuries, chances for Sunday win look bleak – NFL News
Buffalo Bills finally have something to be optimistic about. Wide out Stevie Johnson returned to practice on Thursday. Even though the practice was limited, yet it comes as good news for the Bills. Johnson had missed the practice
on Wednesday due to an injury.
Johnson had sustained an injury in his left shoulder during last weekend’s game against the Dallas Cowboys. The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of the game which the Bills lost 44-7.
Buffalo Head Coach Chan Gailey said it was premature to speculate whether Johnson will recover from his injury in time to play on Sunday. He had been hopeful that Johnson would practice on Thursday and Friday. The Buffalo Bills
are scheduled for a game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday.
"Stevie came out and did some things today, which was good" Gailey said. "He was limited, but he did some things. We got him off the field early to get some treatment."
The recent development is completely different to what Johnson himself was feeling a day back when Johnson considered his chances of playing this Sunday’s game as too low.
"We’ll see what happens when we make it to Sunday. I’m definitely making progress. In the training room we’ve been doing a lot of treatment. Hopefully we get everything we need so once Friday or Saturday comes around I’m fully
confident in going out there and using my arm and throwing people by and all that stuff for the game." Johnson said.
Accompanying Johnson’s return to practice were a few bad news for the Bills. Safety George Wilson suffering from a neck injury did not practice and is questionable for the game against the Miami. While Spencer Johnson suffering
from a calf injury and kicker Rian Lindell with a shoulder injury abstained from practice too. Also missing in action was David Nelson who earlier missed practiced due to a sore ankle and today owing to sickness. However, Gailey pointed out that Nelson’s sore
ankle was much better now.
Good news for the Bills was the return of Erik Pears to practice. Pears earlier had developed problems with his groin.
