Buffalo Bills quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick wants his team to be consistent on the field – NFL News
Although Buffalo Bills are currently having a 3-3 record, it has not been an easy ride this season. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick understands this situation and has expressed wish to be more consistent in coming weeks.
Fitzpatrick conveyed that message while talking to the Bills’ official website on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. He said:
“It has just been very inconsistent all year. A lot of that falls on me and my play. I did not and have not started the year the way I wanted to. I think right now we are still trying to find ourselves in the passing game. A lot of that is me just playing
more consistent.”
Bills have been one of the most unpredictable teams this season. Although they have shown outstanding calibre in their three wins, they have got severe beating in their losses.
They have lost their games by big margins. It started with 28-48 beating by New York Jets in the season opener.
Then they were punished by New England Patriots in Week 4 who won the game 52-28 and then they were outclassed next week in a 3-45 loss against San Francisco 49ers.
Fitzpatrick is also frustrated by the lacklustre performance from his wide receivers. This has forced Bills not to rely more on passing game. Fitzpatrick further said:
“That is where we are at right now. We are 3-3, we have shown that we can run the ball, I think as an offense we are still trying to figure ourselves out in terms of being able to balance the run and the pass.”
Bills are currently banking on their running game which is having a successful time. Both of their running back C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson have now recovered from their injuries and are performing well on the field.
On the other hand, Fitzpatrick has conceded a lot of turnovers, forcing Bills to shift their focus and concentrate on the running game. The quarterback has given away eight interceptions and two forced fumbles this season.
