Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson aiming to use his emotions in effective way – NFL News
Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson has been showing his emotions a lot recently, but mostly due to poor performances. Now he is ready to tunnel his emotions into productivity as Bills faces Arizona Cardinals in their Week 6 tie on Sunday, October
14, 2012.
Johnson has been pretty vocal during this week talking about passion and stepping up his game.
He has not been very successful recently in translating his passion into performance, but thinks this is the right time to do that, not just for him but for the entire Bills’ roster. Talking to the reporters on Thursday, October 11, Johnson said:
“We need more enthusiasm. I feel like I haven’t provided that. I feel like certain things that I’ve done in the past, I think it helped the guys out more than what I’ve been doing lately. I’ve got to work on that. They need to step up every game.”
Johnson certainly needs a boost in his game. He has not been able to score a touchdown in last two weeks.
He also showed his frustration in Week 4 tie against New England Patriots. Failing to convert a good play into a touchdown, Johnson punched the bench of Patriots on the sidelines.
Last week, Bills offence looked paralysed against San Francisco 49ers as they managed to score meagre three points.
Johnson is ready to take on an even tougher task of playing against Cardinals and their superb cornerback Patrick Peterson, who has been in phenomenal form. Talking about Peterson, Johnson said:
"He's different. He gives you a couple of different looks, and he's going to try to force the corner to open up his hips. I have to do a great job of staying patient, staying square, so I can dictate pretty much where I want him to go."
Peterson has recovered a total of four forced fumbles during this season. Johnson will need to step up his game in order to stand any chance against him.
