Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson says he will be fit come Week 14 game – NFL News
Buffalo Bills’ injury-plagued offensive line got another blow when wide receiver Stevie Johnson got injured during Week 13 game against New England Patriots. However, the player indicated on Monday, December 03, 2012 that he will be ready to play in Week
14.
Johnson pointed out that he still has some stiffness on the injured hamstring, but will be able to get fully fit come Sunday, December 09, as Bills will face the St. Louis Rams. According to the Associated Press, Johnson said:
“It is tightness in the hamstring. I will be cool for Sunday. Just get the treatment and then be back on the field. . . It is the same. Just tender. It is nothing serious. That is a good thing. Nothing pulled. Nothing popped. It was just tightness in my
hamstring and I will be good.”
Johnson sensed stiffness on his hamstring while catching a 13-yard pass during the third quarter of the game. Johnson went on and said:
“I felt it during the week of practice, but to the extent in the game I have never felt that before. Just me getting the treatment; ice and stuff. We will do that for the rest of the week and I am sure I will be back out there on Sunday.”
The wide receiver is anticipating a reduced time on the practice field. Johnson has previously faced problems recovering from shrewish groin injury.
Johnson has been the most prolific wide receiver for Bills this season. The player has caught 55 passes for 705 yards and has scored five touchdowns.
Bills (5-7) are struggling to cope up with injuries to their starters at a time when they are desperate to get good number of wins so as to qualify for the playoffs.
The team is currently without centre Eric Wood, backup wide receiver Donald Jones, right tackle Chris Hairston, cornerback Leodis McKelvin, cornerback Aaron Williams and defensive end Chris Kelsay.
Johnson was drafted by Bills in the seventh round (224th overall pick) in the 2008 draft. In his career, Johnson has caught 225 passes for 2,894 yards and 24 touchdowns.
