Buffalo Sabres' owner Terry Pegula renews determination to team –NHL offseason Update
Having one of their best seasons in quite a while, Buffalo Sabres certainly do have some credit to give their new owner, Pennsylvanian billionaire, Terry Pegula, who purchased the team near the end of the 2010-2011 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season.
Buffalo reached the playoffs after a number of years ousted along with becoming much stronger than ever before during the rowdy offseason. This just goes to show that immediate improvement can come with just having sheer dedication and being motivated. These
are two things that Pegula is certainly not lacking in any respect.
Knowing that all they have is sheer dedication and talent, Pegula’s Buffalo Sabres hope to make a much bigger impact on the league overall once the new season starts in October.
“If we come out of the chute 0-9 this year, everybody is going to be going skitzoid”, Pegula said. “But you gotta believe you’re not a 0-9 team, and it will get better. You can’t have the Sword of Damocles hanging over the players, coaches and everybody’s
head".
Most people might think that only because Pegula has a lot of money from his natural gas business, he can practically do anything and the team will be bound to succeed. Practically, professionals know that it is not how things work. Time and hard work must
be invested in whatever it is you are doing, especially if it is a new and fresh business venture which is totally different from the field that concerns you.
“I’ve heard some comments, ‘It’s time to put up or shut up. You say you want to win and all this stuff’,” Pegula said. “Well, isn’t that why every team should exist? I don’t think we’re special. Everybody and I don’t care what sport you’re in, you’re supposed
to do your best to try to win”.
It is certainly not hard to see that Terry Pegula is just as visionary and determined as the day he bought Buffalo Sabres. Excitement is a small word for what fans and speculators are feeling in order to watch the team play next season.
