Mathieu Darche to a one year two way contract

he can add veteran leadership down or up in Portland for all the young players and they can also use him when someone gets injured up in Buffalo

he played in for TB last season in put up 7 goals and 15 assist ( about the numbers Afinogenov did this past season) and he hopes to be able to stick with the NHL club as well ) he signed for 475000

so the question is........

What else do you think that the Sabres need to add to their Portland Roster to make it full

here is their current roster

  1. @ #1:

First of all, you're an idiot!

Darcy has done a fine job assembling one of the fastest, most exciting teams in the league. They have some of the best young talent around on their roster and in development.

In case you forgot, Campbell was TRADED, and eventually signed for more than he was worth (as much as I like the guy), a fact that was stated by the GM who signed him. Did I mention that you're an idiot? Oh, by the way, Bernier was TRADED. Really, did I mention that you're an IDIOT?

Want to talk about retaining star players? Does the word SUNDIN ring a bell Mr. Toronto?

Please, stay off the hockey boards, stick to commenting on 'futbol' where the pussys come out to play.

  2. I'm sorry. Look, really sorry.

Darcy regier has really left you all high and dry. Sabres are the weakest team in the northeast, even worse than Toronto. ain;t my fault but you lost your key players and can't even keep campbell or bernier.

DONT WORRY ABOUT PORTLAND although.... I THOUGHT YOUR CREW WAS THE ROCHERSTER AMERICANS.

FOCUS ON HOW SAD YOUR former Eastern conference champion team is...

You won a presidents and then... won dill doe.... sad sad sad....

  3. The Amerks used to be affiliated with the Sabres, but Buffalo gave up the affiliation last season and Portland is now the AHL affiliate.  Portland used to be the Ducks affiliate, but now the Ducks use the Iowa Stars (renamed Chops).  Dallas dropped the Iowa Stars for a new AHL team being added in Texas.  And Rochester is the AHL affiliate for the Florida Panthers.

Confusing for sure.  And more so because the minor league players with NHL contracts are moved to the new affiliate team so the AHL rosters are going to change drastically next season.  It was a mistake for Buffalo, in my opinion.  One of the greatest things about the Sabres/Amerks relationship was seeing the homegrown players get called up and playing 75 miles down the turnpike.

Bubba must work for the PR department.  Ahem ... Briere, Drury, JP Dumont.  Regier is responsible for the quickest dismantling of a Cup contender.

As for the original question, I'm hoping that Zagrapan gets a call up because the Sabres could use another center.  There are certainly a number of good young talents in the minors.  The Sabres look good for the future, but I don't expect much from them this season.

  4. If Darche ever makes the big club, we had a nice little tradition down here.

Instead of yelling "Duh duh duh dah, duh duuuuuuuuuh CHARGE!" We yelled "Darche!"

He played very well for us last year, just not in ways the statistics will show. He brought his game every night, and that's all that was asked of him. A very gritty player.

    Drop that puck already!
