Buffalo Sabres thrill fans with personal ticket delivery –NHL News Update
Buffalo Sabres has gone through a total redesigning phase over the offseason which began after Pennsylvanian billionaire, Terry Pegula, took over as the teams’ new owner. Taking another revolutionary step, fans were surprised as players and even Pegula himself
knocked on their doors in order to deliver their pre-ordered regular season tickets.
The 2011-2012 National Hockey League (NHL) regular season is set to begin in early October, but the franchise thought it would be best to honour and give the VIP treatment to those fans that have already purchased tickets in order to support their hometown
team.
Terry Pegula is and always has been a fan loving person, since he has been a die-hard fan himself throughout his life, something which acted as a motivational factor for him to purchase the team.
"It's good to have fans support the team like they do, and they're good people", Pegula said. "It's really cool".
For many fans, having Pegula standing in front of them and also communicating in a manner which would signal him as being the same as them was more than enough for some to love the team more than they already do.
Long time fan, Patty Schwartz, was especially excited after seeing the billionaire standing outside her door.
"I've been nervous since about noon. Now I'm going a little crazy", said Schwartz. "I was very happy because [Pegula] was my choice. I wanted to see him more than a player because I'm just so excited about everything he's done with the team. It's just perfect
because I've wanted to meet him and his family, Jessie and Kim, too".
Only a handful of NHL teams have been giving their fans the VIP treatment over the years, but this was certainly a first for Buffalo Sabres fans. Now having Terry Pegula on board, Sabres hope to continue and eventually make this a tradition for those who
have and continue to support their NHL franchise.
Now having been given such great treatment, fans will certainly be much more thrilled at each and every event.
