Buffalo Sabres wins 4-3 against Boston Bruins in an entertaining match for all audiences
The first game of Thursday was played at the TD Garden as the home team Boston Bruins was up against the Buffalo Sabres.
The game saw the Bruins looking into the top two with a win while the Sabres wanted to move above the final play-off position in the conference.
The game started off with both teams making a decent start but it was the Bruins who scored and led at the end of the first period. The Sabres also scored a couple of goals to level the scores.
The final period began with the scores level on 2-2 and both teams scored a goal apiece to keep things on level terms as the regulation time ended.
The game went into overtime where the Sabres scored to win the game 4-3 in the end.
Brad Boyes was the star of the game as he scored the winning goal and made an important assist.
Both teams made a decent start to the game with the Sabres coming up with the early attacks.
However, with the passage of time the Bruins also started to come up with some decent plays and finally managed to score in the ninth minute through Nathan Horton from a simple tip in shot.
The period saw both teams continuing to fire shots on goal. There were some brilliant plays constructed by both teams but unfortunately none of the shots found the back of the net.
The period ended with the Bruins leading 1-0 at the end of the period. During the period, the Bruins made 15 shots on goal while the Sabres made 11 shots on goal.
The second period started off with the Sabres coming up with some attacks which intensified with the passage of time.
The Bruins managed to score in the 12th minute through Mark Recchi from a well placed flick shot.
The Sabres started to bombard shots on goal and finally scored in the 12th minute through Tyler Ennis from a decent strike.
The Sabres with the strong offense continued to pile pressure and scored once again in the 19th minute to level the scores. The goal was scored by Thomas Vanek from a brilliant tip in shot.
The period ended with the scores level on 2-2. During the period, the Bruins made 7 shots on goal while the Sabres made 22 shots on goal.
The final period saw the Bruins coming up with 7 goal attempts once again while the Sabres made 8.
During the period the Bruins scored in the third minute through Gregory Campbell from a simple flick shot.
However, the Sabres scored the final goal of the regulation time to level the scores. The goal was scored by Tim Connolly during power play.
The game went into overtime as the scores were level on 4-4. The Sabres scored through Bead Boyes from another tip in shot to win the game 5-4 in the end.
