  1. -salad bar w/diff. toppings, diff. fruits w/crackers,

    -some kind of beef (roast beef), grilled chicken breast in a sauce, potatoes (not mashed), different pasta salads, rice pilaf, dinner rolls (white and wheat)

    -veg sticks and dips, cheeseballs,

    Plus Just think... Vegetarians just don't eat meat.

    So everything NOT MEAT your good.

    ALSO another GREAT idea for a Candy Buffet which im going to do at my wedding...

    With Cakes, pies, donuts etc on it.

    You can get Most candy custimized.

    Like M&M's etc.

  2. Really you can do anything.  Most of the wedding where I am from are buffet style.  I've had carving stations for turkey and prime rib, cold roast beef, pulled pork, vegetable and fruit trays, salads, rolls, bread and cheese platters, nacho bars,....really anything.  For vegetarians perhaps a meatless lasagne or eggplant parmessan (sp?) would be nice.  Have things like spinach dip in bread bowls, fruit and veggie trays, different breads.

  3. you could keep going with the pasta/italian theme you could do a chicken parmesan an eggplant parmesan for the vegetarians. believe me, whoever said that the vegetarians will be happy with salad, rolls, and dessert is obviously not one. As a vegetarian, I know that I always appreciate when someone makes an effort to feed me real food. We don't eat salad for every meal!!!! But pasta sounds good, who doesn't like pasta? And plus, it will give you and your guests energy to dance the night away!!!

  4. We went with a very basic buffet - simple but yummy! We had Baron of beef, turkey, and baked ham; roasted baby potatoes; hot mixed veggies; four or five kinds of salads; marinated veggies, cheeses, pickles, buns, etc.; veggie platter, fruit platter, variety of dainties.

  5. have two different salads and if there are vegetarians don't put meat in either.  do a house and a Cesar.

    A carving station is always great like a ham or turkey

    sides like roasted veggies, potatoes and steamed veggies.

    even a deli platters with meats, cheeses and rolls can be nice

  6. i would say to serve what ever you want.

    and not base what you serve on, because of the vegetarians.

    they will eat salad, and rolls, and the dessert.

    thats good enough

    :D

  7. I really like the idea of a taco bar.  This way you would also have beans, tortillas, lettuce, etc. for your vegetarian guests.

    Best wishes to you.

  8. Chicken and Fish are always good.  Try a vegetarian lasagna.

  9. Most people appreciate a little something sweet, but not too heavy a something at a buffet, a fruit tray with a yogurt dip would thrill me no end, provide another dish for the vegetarians, and give everyone else something healthy and sweet to eat.

    Another pasta would work, choose one with a meat or seafood in the sauce, and one without, perhaps pasta con brocolli.

    A friend served a Chinese buffet at her wedding, it was quite good. She had beef, chicken,  rice, veggies, all Chinese style in sauces.

    In this area, we see roast beef, chicken, and ham the most often, and mostly served without much embellishment. We see mashed potatoes and green beans the most, seasoned new potatoes and carrots second. I had scalloped potatoes once, too.

  10. Well with most of the weddings I have coordinated we have had a combination of the following mains (this will depend on budget and style of wedding):

    *  Roast Meat - usually either Pork or Beef

    *  Roasted veges

    *  Chicken Stir Fry (can omit meat for the vegetarians)

    *  Fried rice

    *  Beef and Black Bean

    *  Chicken Vin da Loo

    *  Baked fish

    *  Carbonara

    *  Selection of seafood (calamari, prawns, crab, bugs, oysters, etc)

    For your Vegetarians some of these mains will be fine:

    *  Herb and potato frittas

    *  Eggplant and Tofu Stack

    *  Vegetarian Quiche

    *  Penne with ricotta, roast pumpkin and Tomato
