Buffon committed to Juve
Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, has once again admitted that he is committed to the Old Lady despite interest from a host of English Premier League and Serie A clubs.
Buffon is subject of interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 but the 33-year-old has no intention of leaving the Turin-based club. The Italian international has been a loyal servant as he stayed with La Vecchia Signora following their relegation
to Serie B in the wake of 2006 Calciopoli scandal.
The 2006 World Cup winner revealed that he never thought about leaving the club and he will remain at the Stadio Olimpico Turin for life.
Talking to the reporters, Buffon said, "I never felt dumped by the club, as I'm sure they would have told me first. However, there was a point in the season when I did wonder whether we could continue to work together. But then the recent statements confirmed
their faith in me."
Buffon joined Juventus from Parma in 2001 for a then record club fee and since then, he has made more than 300 appearances for Juventus and has been part of two Serie A and a UEFA Cup winning team.
Albelda signs one-year extension
Valencia midfielder, David Albelda, has signed a one-year extension to his existing contract with Los Che.
Due to several injury concerns, there were many rumours that suggested that the 2010/11 season will be the player’s last campaign at Mestalla. Albelda was restricted to only 10 appearances in the recently concluded campaign.
Unai Emery’s side had a wonderful campaign, as they finished third in the league table which automatically qualifies them to the UEFA Champions League group stages for next season. The manager believes that the veteran midfielder’s experience will be a key
in his side’s progress in Europe’s most elite competition next season.
Since breaking into the Valencia first-team in 1996, the 33-year-old has made more than 300 appearances for the club and has been part of the 2001/02 and 2003/04 Spanish league winning squads.
