Bug Problem - Need Help Fast?

Question

Recently my family and I BBQ'ed and accidentally forgot some bread on our back porch. To our surprise the bread had mold and attract insects. Anyhow, the insects managed to get inside the house and in our bedroom. The insects are the size of a pen point and are almost impossible to see. They are brown/black in color and to my knowledge do not fly but do posses the ability to jump fairly far.

The insects are primarily on our walls and our mattress. Unfortunately we can not seem to get rid of them even after having an exterminator come and spray inside and outside the house.

Does anyone have an idea or suggestion as to what these could be and how to get rid of them?

call the extermenator and get new mattresses

or get a new house.. sorry

You can go to your local vet or pet store and they have a special spray you use indoors on furniture and mattress.  It cost around 25.00 but is well worth it.

They sound suspiciously like fleas.  Since they are "on" your mattress there's a good chance they are also in your mattress.  I'd suggest a new mattress if you can manage it, after another round of extermination.  Did the pest control person see the bugs and if so did he know what they were?

I would have to go with fleas too. Nasty little buggers. Keep spraying and vacuum FREQUENTLY. Also, wash everything in the room.

Ok, I have a good remedy for this, it's cheap, and safe for pets and humans. Purchase 20 Mule Team Borax (laundry powder), spread it on the floor/carpets, brush it in with a broom if it's carpeting or rugs. Let it sit. It burns the little legs off and kills them. It really works! I learned this from my mother-in-law. Plus, it smells nice. Do this every time AFTER vacuuming.

Eventually, they will all die and/or leave if you have no pets. They don't prefer humans.
