Question:

Bug identification for school project,tiny misquito like body,but light green......?

it has one set of wings that are transparent and bigger than a misquito. I have searched bug websites and cant find a picture of it. Also it does NOT have a stinger.I live in southern Utah. Thanks

  4. I have seen those same bugs in Florida too.  Not sure what they are but as far as I know they do not bite.

  5. Sounds like it may be something like a Chironomid midge - these are harmless insects distantly related to mosquitoes.  They often emerge from lakes and ponds in huge numbers, and come in a variety of colours; dark, red, and green are common.
