Question:

Bug problem, how to ensure dishes are clean?

Summer time in Cali has brought yet another bug problem. We have put down gel and borax and still wake up to a ton of these little roaches (not quite the common version people see) They are all over the place and I basically just keep washing the dishes all over again and bleach the countertops. They end up in the dishwasher and I just wash whats in there again. I should take them right out but with two kids its sometimes hard. Should I run the dishwasher with vinegar? Any advice on how to make sure everything is being disinfected until I can get rid of these things?

  1. What you have are german c**k roaches and they are highly impossible to get rid of no matter how clean you are without calling an exterminator in to do so.The cost will be around $150. but it's well worth the money to get rid of the nasty things.Good Luck!

  2. i have the same problem here in GA. i have learned NOT to wash dishes at night (thats when they are most active) and to just run the dish washer as soon as i wake up run twice. then as soon as the dish washer is done put the dishes away. well my cockroach problem is much worse though they are all int he cupboards and hiding in the island thats in our kitchen so i just wash each dish before i use them again just to make sure they are clean. your going to have to get an exterminator out and they will bait the place and the issue should go away asap. Also i dont think borax works with cokcroaches thought it was for fleas?

  3. Have you ever tried Boric Acid, it comes in a powder form,  It works well I have used it before!

  4. I had roach problems in the past, and I tried almost everything, (I couldn`t afford my own extermibator) and those critters always survived.

What helped me was moving to a new place!

I have horror stories about roaches.

Some of the things I tried were:

-RAID roach baits W/egg stoppers. They really work, but are a bit high priced. You have to get a few boxes, one or two boxes, if you have a big home, is just not enough.

-RAID fumigator or fogger. They are almost exactly alike, except with one of them, you have to remove all items, and blow out flames. Oh, and you have to leave the home.

With this one also you must get the right quantity of cans.

GOOD LUCK getting rid of those nasty critters! email if you want to know anything else. I did research on those suckers!
