Bugaboo frog stroller-position shifting control

Question

On this stroller you can shift the position of the "seat" by pushing in on the large "buttons" on either side. These buttons stick in the "in" postion. I have taken them apart and see nothing broken. I have two questions. What is the proper location of each of the two springs? and is the larger spring to be compressed by its holder locking in place? thanks
