  1. The first thing you need to do is quarantine your new bird for about a month so you can make sure it doesn't show any symptoms of sickness... the last thing you want is to introduce a new bird that's secretly hiding a virus and lose all three birds.

You definitely don't want to put the new bird in the other birds' cage right away, they will definitely fight, and seeing as it's two ganging up on one your new bird will be in serious trouble. It will not teach them to "get along", it will just make them dislike each other, and birds can feel very strongly about who they like and dislike. Keep the new bird in a cage separate from (but once the quarantine period is over, in the same room as) your first two birds. This way they can see each other and can get used to each others' presence, vocalizations, etc.

Once the new bird has had a week or two to adjust to his new surroundings (the new surroundings being the room in which he and the other birds are kept; this does not include the quarantine time), you can try to slowly introduce them to each other by having them out of the cage at the same time. If you have a nice open space on the floor you can let them walk around on the floor, with you sitting right there and possibly a piece of paper/cardboard on the floor with some seeds sprinkled around that they can eat. You still can't put him in the other birds' cage and expect them to get along, however; a bird's cage is his territory and until everyone is friends with everyone else, your first birds will not tolerate a stranger barging into their "home".

Please note that even after they're all friends and happily play together outside their cages, they may still never allow one another into their private space. Some birds are just like that.

  2. Its...Budgie. No keep them apart for 2 weeks in diff rooms in case the new one is sick, then in the same room in diff cages for a week, introduce them slowly.

  3. You should always quaretine a bird for 30 to 45 days before introducing to your flock. To insure your birds dont get ill from what ever the new fid may or may not have. Then try putting them in seperate cages until they get to know one another.

  4. heres what you do

first keep the new budgie in a different cage and keep it there for 2 days to 1 week depending on if they lunge at each other

and when they dont lung or any thing then put them in the same cage and watch them for an hour or so and its pretty obvious from this now

  5. No you need to put the new one in a different cage because they need to get used to the house and you before they can get used to other birds.

    I hope I helped!
