Bugs in Winter?

Ok...

So I just moved to Chicago. Every other day I find a weird *** d**n bug that I never had in my house down south before.

The other day was a the weirdest looking spider.

Today: A house centipede... I couldn't kill it cause it was toooo fast, now I'm scared I'm going to wake up at night with it on my face!

My question: Are there less bugs during the winter? It's the middle of a hot summer so I'm wondering if that's why there are so many....will I be seeing these suckers come January?
