Bugs in the lake keep biting me, any idea what kind it could be?

We have a cottage in michigan on a lake, which I don't think is spring fed. But, I keep getting these stupid bits fro some sort of water bug. It's pissin me off, cuz everybody thinks I'm crazy. It got in my suit this last time and bit me a couple times. Does anyone know what kind of bug it could be?? It's for sure not swimmers itch!

i got these bites at the begining of the summer from when i was swiming in the creek me and both my friends gots bites if there anything like we had the best thing to do is stay away from the water for a few days and dont swim in the morning or at night it seems. but i think the reason why we got bug bites is because we swam in a wooded area and we would crawl out the water on to land and i think that were the bugs got us
