Question:

Bugs in toads moss-need replacement substrate?

Recently i changed my toads substrate to moss after hearing sand was bad for them because they can digest it. However when i was cleaning it today i found these horrid yellow maggot/caterpilla things and another thing that looked like a spider. I did wonder whether it was a mite but it was quite big, about the size of the O on a keyboard so im hopeing it was just a spider. Anyway i have them on a bare tank in the mean time but need a safe, bug free replacement substrate so am open to good suggestions.

  1. You should be housing your toads on a compost/peat/leaf mix and provide water for them to bathe in
