Which will work out to be more successful. Running long distances slower or short distances faster. (i.e. which is better for stamina training 3 miles in 25 minutes or 1 mile in 7 minutes)?

  1. for endurance the longer u run for like with minutes the better...like for midfield its almost like constants running so to prepare yourself try to do a quik job for like 30 to 40 mins...of course trying to run and improve your time for only one mile will help you get in shape too but long distance and times running is best for improving stamina....a good routine if u have a treadmill available is to set it at a real quik walk...do that speed for a minute..and then set it at a really quik sprint speed and do that for a minute...and alternate between the 2 speeds a minute each for 30 to 50 mins

  2. To build the stamina, which is your question it be better running 30-45 minutes 4 times a week.  Soccer though uses a lot of burst of speed so I would suggest to you fartlek running.  Basically alternate between easy and hard running throughout your run.  Ex. say your running for 30 min. do 4 min. at easy pace then go really hard pace for 1 min. then repeat over until you've done your 30 min. run.  This would help your stamina, yet keep your speed as well!!  Good Luck
