If you ran a mile and then took like a ten minute break and then ran another mile and took another ten minute break and continued doing that for a whole day would your endurance increase? Like would you be to wake up the next day and run an amazing mile?

  1. all day? thats a bit too much.

  2. No that won't work.

You only need to run for about an hour a day. Each time you run, go a little further and try to walk less. After a few short weeks you should be able to run a few miles without stopping.

  3. No, build endurance by trying to run longer on each run, like instead of miles try running two or three miles at a slower pace everyday so that the one mile in fact becomes easier. You also need to incorporate some type of speed work into your routine.

  4. Well first of all takin breaks in your runs will not help you at all.  You need to set a goal each time and everyday you run try and reach that goal.  Dont take a break just go as far as you can.  And rather then quitting the run, try setting a pace that will get you through the whole run.  Your better off runnign a slow pace for the whole run, then taking breaks all teh time.  Also work-out, try building up ur slow-twitch muscles.  Google It.

  5. It can work but then u have to factor in how fast ur going..

Well i think 10 min is way too long rest to do 1 mile at least 4min rest.

But i do think a runner can improve that way...

    I usually do a mile or 2 a day....

But running is not only about running...lol

Its also about muscle train> ab's and leg train are the best to improve endurance...

  6. I dont think so because endurance is about gong long distance without stoping so only going a mile then stping wouldnt be helping that.  It takes practice and time but you have to pace yourself and go longer distance without stoping. But if you went on a run a couple times a week then it would be building endurance.

  7. Not the next day but if you did that for a week and rested the whole weekend and made sure that you got plenty of vitamins and minerals then your endurance would increase but it depends on the person some people can increase endurance very quickly and some cannot but it wouldn't be amazing you would probably see an increase but not an amazing amount.
