Building Heights in Paris and Vicinity?

Is the "Tour Montparnasse" still the tallest building in France? Or has it been surpassed by a skyscraper in La Defense? Justify your answer with facts such as number of floors and height. Merci.

Yes.

With 209 meter height and 59 flors, It was the tallest one in Europe until 1990 (when Francfurt, Germany built the Messeturm).

But new heights are going to be built or renovated :

the Unibail tower (300 meters) should be finished in La defense by 2012.

And Generali tower, with about 300 meters as well will be a glass tower. 50 floors and 90.000 m² allowing 6000 people to work there. the basement will be a 45 meter square.

it will be finished by 2011.
