ok so here's the deal I have been playing guitar for about a year and a half and I've decided I want to build a guitar. I don't need to build anything with amazing sound I already use a Gibson Lp studio. I'm actually interested in making a frankentein replica. I was lookng at one of those saga kits the strat one. The only thing with that is it has that big white plastic pick board, I'm not sure if you could paint over that. I don't want to spnd anymore than like 350 suggestions or tips?

  1. You can replace the pick guard with a piece of scrap(left overs from customer request cuts-they allow customers 2, or 3 free cuts in the store, to make it easier to transport) hardwood which you can pickup from Home Depot for a few dollars. Or go to a guitar shop and tell them what you are doing and they can get you a piece of wood that will work. They might even just give it to you, if they have plenty of scraps lying around.

  2. i dont really know but that is way awesome! You should be able to paint over the pickboard..
