I'm 15 years old, playing in the backline.

I'm quite skinny and think that my best luck lies in speed and nimbleness, except I don't think that currently my acceleration is as good as it can be. I live in Singapore, where there isn't much space, so I was wondering if there are ways to train explosiveness at home without machines, and how to do it on fields without carts and stuff.

  1. Try running at a local athletics field, eat more but do more exercise eat things with lots of protein ie fish chicken and on game days tons of carbohydrates.

  2. if there is a pool nearby try resistance training. running in the pool

    running dragging something behind you

    using bungee ropes

    any resistance work will help you with power and speed hitting the line

  3. Eat more? He is trying to build explosive power not get bigger you fool.

    You need to do short, sharp exercises. Static jumping, ie squat down then explode up in a jump. things like that will help increase you power. Running in a swimming pool is a good exercise. Ankler weights are also another good tip. Eating more isn't...at least not in the context that the previous poster used it in.

  4. a good thing to do is walk around during your normal day with ankle weights, even five pounds will take its toll on your legs and when you take them off youll feel a difference, if your house has stairs just run up and down them over and over again...and another exercise to do is to work on your vertical jump, at first that doesn't make sense but it works the same muscle that you need to get your legs fit for a powerful run

  5. Free squats are always good.

    Do a lot of sprinting and exploding off the line.
