Im trying to price some building materials for a block and liner pool (DIY Kit), so far for a 20'x10 pool i have worked out that i need 340 building blocks (440x210mm) to build the main shell, but id like to know how much sand, cement & concrete i need.

How many 25kg bags of cement will i need for 340 blocks?

How much sand will i need for the 340 blocks?

What type of sand and cement would i buy?

How many 25kg bags of concrete will i need to build a 12x10 foundation floor base (12" deep)? And how much sand will i need to build the base, what type of sand and cement will i need? (i take it i will need stones in the mix aswell).

And how much screed will i need to smove over floor and walls, im lost as to how screed is made (do you just add water?) or is it a 2 part process?

Yep, this a mega challenge, but well worth it, when its done!!!

  1. Sand & cement would depend on what ratio you are going to mix it at as to how much of each you will need, but what ever the ratio, why not start by buying  say bags of cement & 10 sand and the start laying your block.

When you run out you can work out from there how much more you should need. (same with the other materials)

However you should be seeking proffesional advice on this, as if the structure is not stable it could collapse in on you with the weight of the surrounding earth.

Be very careful is my best advice.!
