Buisness Week vs. The Economist?

I am a sophomore in high school and very interested in business and economics. I invest a lot in the stock market and want to subscribe to a magazine that will give me some relevant info. I won't take Econ as a class till next year (2009-2010) and during that class its pretty much mandatory to subscribe to the economist. I have read both and I think for my purposes now, Business Week may be better, but I have no idea as I feel the Economist is a higher quality periodical. Please give me your opinion on which magazine would better suit my current needs.

  1. Business Week is business summaries for the masses.  It's a good publication, but it's not about the why and how. It's about spin, angles and intrigue.  It's bisu-tainment and business.  It also tends to be way behind the curve.

In my opinion, the Economist is the finest business magazine in the world, followed a close second with Barrons.  If you get Barrons and the Economist, you're going to add the "street wise" to the "book wise" that you'll learn in the books.  I highly recommend it and would hit your folks up to get you subscriptions.  Not cheap, but well worth it.
