Bulldogs sweep Cougars – Volleyball news
The Hemet boys volleyball team competed with the Cougars recently in a match that did not take long to reach its close. The Bulldogs did not make their fans wait as they wound up on the winning side by making a clean sweep over their opponents.
The entire match was dominated by the Bulldogs who were not given a hard time by their opponents in securing a win. It was only in the second set of the game that the Cougars showed some sign of life but to no avail. By the time that the match reached its
close, the score board showed the following final set scores: 25-18, 25-23, and 25-12.
The head coach of the Bulldogs squad expressed his delight on the win in the following manner at the press conference that was conducted after the match had reached its close, “The last time we played them, it took us four sets to win. So obviously we are
getting better. That third set was easily our best performance of the year. I did not think we played extremely well, but we did enough to win. Our offense could have been much better, like it was in the final set. It's hard because if the passing isn't there,
the setting isn't going to be there, and obviously we aren't going to be able to be offensive. Our strength is our offense, but if we can't get there it does us no good.”
Next in line for the Bulldogs squad is league plat which is scheduled to start from March 22. The first match that the team would be playing would be against West Valley. The venue of the competition between the two sides would be the Hemet gym.
The toughest challenge that the Bulldogs would have to face in the Mountain Pass League would be the match against Paloma High School. The coach has plans to prepare his team for the competition.
The overall season record of the Bulldogs show a total of seven wins. These victories have been incurred at the cost of losing a total of two games only.
