Bullriding is Bull....?

okay i've watched this animal planet thing and they showed like some of the wildest moments. so this bull rider was riding this...bull and long story short the bull made the guy fly like 30 feet in the air and he landed in an ugly position. when i see riders get hurt, i feel no sympathy. and before you call me cold-hearted, here's why: people have to train those bulls to be wild, and they do it in such a gruesome way. i don't see what so exciting about a guy trying to stay on a wild animal for a few seconds when they know the animal doesnt like it.

and its the same with those lambs or whatever they are where the let it loose and then they try to flip it on its side and tie ropes around its neck or legs....WOW!! what an exciting SPORT!!!

anyway, i was wondering what people's opinions are of bullriding.

  1. Fun!!!!

  2. I despise it. For one thing, humans do not "train" the bulls to be wild; they are TORMENTED. Have you ever noticed those straps around their bellies, just in front of their hind legs? They are tied up TIGHT. Imagine cinching your belt between your p***s & testicles tightly. Think that would feel good? I guarantee you the bull doesn't think so! That's what makes them go crazy. The bulls can injure themselves badly, sometimes fatally, jumping around like that. I am the opposite. I CHEER when the bull flattens a cowboy. The cowboys have a choice when they decide to go in with a bull. The bull doesn't. Have some sympathy for the unfortunate bovine. He didn't sign up for that.

As for those "lambs", they are calves, & I HATE calf roping even more! Calves suffer from broken horns, broken legs, broken necks! I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE RODEOS!!!! They are bastions of animal cruelty prostituted as "entertainment"! What sick b******s came up with this c**p??!!!

  3. I completely agree with you.

    Rodeo is shameful.

Saying the animals like that behavior is like saying a battered wife likes getting beaten up and sent to the hospital.

It's like giving yourself points for abusing your children.

Saying the animals are well cared for is like saying, "But I call the ambulance if I hit my kid too hard".  Big whoop!

    IT'S STILL WRONG!!!

I always root for the "cowboys" to be trampled and killed.  Maybe if enough people die, someone will wise up and outlaw this idiocy.

    EDIT TO ADD:

I'm a vet tech and worked back stage at a rodeo.

    IT'S A BLOODBATH!!

By far the most horrifying thing I've ever done, seen, smelled, cleaned up after.

    HORRID!

So, don't tell me I don't know the issues!

Don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about.

  4. No, bulls are BORN to buck and they are the most spoiled things in the world. They have the best life, there's nothing cruel about it. All they do is tie dummies onto them to train them, that's it! Those bulls are seriously spoiled, their breeders put thousands and thousands of dollars into them. They won't do anything to hurt them and the bulls don't hate it. They LOVE it. They know what the h**l they're doing and they friggen prance around, Mossy Oak Mud Slinger and Little Yellow Jacket were the best for that!

And those are calves, NOT lambs.

Believe me, being around cattle all my life and being trampled by plenty, I know they ARE NOT BRED TO BE NICE!

Some, might "abuse" them. I have friends who raise rodeo stock and no, they don't "abuse" them. As for the calf tying, yea, it's probably the worst out of the rodeo sports, but it doesn't hurt them that bad and all they do to them is tie 3 of their feet together. Nothing goes "around their bodies"

Haha the cinches dont hurt the bulls! It's a thousand pound animal, it'll take more then that to really hurt it.

Manini made a good point too, they don't want your sympathy. I have a friend whos 15 and he's in junior bull riding and he's said that the second he puts his hand in that rope he knows what he's in for.

  5. i used to ride bulls and i don't feel sympathy for the riders either, mostly because they don't need or want any sympathy because they're doing something they love. they love what they do, and rodeo cowboys also have a respect for the animals. these bulls are also athletes and they are trained to perform (that doesn't mean they are abused so they're angry)... it's an intense and technical sport that there is more to it than meets the eye... much like anything else... don't judge the men or the conditions of the animals unless you learn about it.
