This year saw three Australian teams finish in the top six; unfortunately they are not going to be under the cameras in the finals. The jinx of teams not winning away matches in the super 14 took toll on the Australian Tahs who were out classed by Stormers in the semi finals. The Tahs were unable to show any great plays against the Stormers , playing poorly against the team that eliminated the Chiefs and Hurricanes during the plays offs to earn a place in the semi-finals. The Tahs gave away penalties out of frustrations, after their efforts to go through the defense of the Stormers were thwarted at every step.
Peter Grant, the prolific Stormers fly-half pushed hard and his efforts earned his team a place in the tournament finals in Soweto.
