Bulls coach Frans Ludeke vows to make a comeback – Super Rugby news
Frans Ludeke, the Bulls coach has criticized his team’s performance at home against Highlanders. The defeat has brought their winning streak of 18 matches to an end. However, he is still positive about future and believes that the mistakes can be corrected.
A few major blunders made Highlanders take a 35-28 victory over the ever rising Bulls on Saturday. Now Ludeke’s side has only a fortnight to amend what has been damaged and turn their fate around before they depart after the round 4. Bulls will be taking
over Lions at home in two weeks before going overseas.
Ludeke said, “This was not adequately fine and it was noticeable there were regions where we didn't occupy our self well like at the breakdowns and in wrecked field play where we produced a lot of liberty for them which nearly played into their hand.”
Talking of the better prospects he added, “They are things that we can repair because we are dedicated and we have an entire season in front of us so we are still in the contest and optimistically we can sort it out prior to the upcoming fixture.”
As a whole, it was a thrilling match as both the teams had to win the game in any case, but Bulls didn’t get to play with the ball much at the last stages. Bulls craved for possession and the coach was clearly disappointed with the results and the amount
of fouls conceded by his side whenever they had the ball.
Ludeke admitted that his side did not defend the storming attacks by Highlanders and the defense always lacked in numbers. There were moments when the ball was forced out of Bulls’ possession and the tackles in response were feeble. Though, he reckons that
the real reason behind the failure will be evident once they all see the video.
Though, it was visible that error handling, poor decision making and fumbled passes had caused the major damage. Getting beaten at lineout again and again was yet another reason that restricted the Bulls. Victor Matfield, the Bulls skipper believes that
his side will amend a lot in this week’s training.
He said, “We are normally very accurate in what we do, it is one of our strengths, but we were not accurate. We are more disappointed in the way we played at home as we know that you have to win your home games and we let one slip.”
