Bumblebee Twink wins The Gala Coral Stayers at Romford
The black and white b***h, Bumblebee Twink, won the Grade OR, The Gala Coral Stayers event of 575m category on 13 January, 2012, at Romford. The winner competed against Cagey Joe, Pams Alan, Bush Whitney, Bubbly blues and Blonde Blitz.
The race started at 22:26. Bumblebee Twink broke from trap 1, and from the very beginning, she seemed to be in great form, running away quickly. Once the daughter of Menlo Twink managed to take the lead, she held on to it till the end.
Running with immense pace and intense aggression, the trainee of P.W. Young reached the finish line in 36.11 seconds, downing Cagey Joe by 1 ¼ lengths.
The b***h ended up with this position for the 7th time since her debut on May 12, 2010.
It was an unexpected victory by Bumblebee Twink, who was not a favourite one for this event.
Before the start of the race, no one from the bookies was sure of her success. Whelped in April 2008, the brilliant b***h impressed all by grabbing a fabulous triumph.
The trainer of the winner was pleased with the performance of his rampant runner, hoping that she will carry forward this momentum and accomplish further victories in the future.
The second spot in the race went to Cagey Joe, who fought hard to browbeat Bumblebee Twink, but failed because of his inconsistent pace.
Breaking from trap 3, the blue and white dog was fast in the beginning. However, he could not sustain his speed and kept baulking.
The son of Top Honcho finally bridged the distance in 36.21 seconds. It was for the third time the dog achieved this position in the 575m category, since making his debut win in September 2010.
Whelped in January 2008, he is trained by A.M.P. Collett.
Pams Alan was the runner to finish third in the race with a huge difference of 4 ½ lengths.
The blue dog rushed fast in the start, but turned to be somewhat sluggish in the middle. Afterwards, he could not perk his speed up and kept trailing.
It was shocking to see for many spectators and bettors that the veteran player reached the boundary strap unusually late.
Stating his career in April 2011, the son of Duke Special attained this rank for the very first time.
His trainer, B.A. Clemenson, seemed to disappointed with his poor output. The dog was whelped in July 2009.
In the end, Bumblebee Twink walked away with the 1st prize worth £175, while the 2nd prize of £40 was presented to Cagey Joe. Each of the other four hounds earned £20.
The race was amazing to watch as the most favourite sprinter with starting price of 8 to 11, Bush Whitney, finished fourth, while an underdog prevailed as the winner.
