Question:

Bump underneath tongue piercing around the barbell??

I got my tongue done a few weeks ago and there is a lump underneath it and around the piercing. Ive had my tongue done before and took it out because of this bump. It disappeared within 4 days of me taking it out. Could I be allergic to the metal of this barbell? Its only on the bottom not the top. Please serious answers only!!

  1. You're probably not allergic -- piercers generally use surgical steel, the same metal used in hospital surgery tools, so it's very safe.

More likely, you have a little skin left over underneath -- maybe it got poked through by the needle? Maybe it's just the way your tongue is. I would head back to the piercer BEFORE you take it out and get their professional opinion. They've seen it all so they can tell you their very experienced opinion on whether you should leave it in, take it out, and what will happen either way. Good luck!

  2. actually it means it was pierced incorrectly or infected. Same thing for if your belly was pierced and you had a bump develop under it. I suggest taking it out all together unfortunately.
