Bumps in pelvic area?

my boyfriend told me the other day he has bumps the color of his skin that is in his pelvic area, then it goes around to his testicles. he says he shaves (maybe it's that) but he's been shavin for years and never had this reaction. his mom, who has a degree in nursing, said it's not an STD but possibly prostate cancer?

He should get it checked out.  It doesn't sound normal

Prostate cancer?  That was the suggestion from his mother the nurse?  Ok....

How about swollen lymph nodes?  I would have him checked out asap.  Those could indicate a number of things - recent infection, lymphoma (cancer), etc.  He could have anything and needs to see a physician.

prostate cancer??? that's a far jump, how old is your bf 65 or more?  it could be a number of things, it all depends on a number of factors, what does the rash look like.  it could be one of several rashes, need to know more in order to make an educated guess.

Depending on the size of the bumps, they could be a number of different things.  Small bumps are most likely just razor bumps and ingrown hairs, especially since he shaves there.

Larger, hard bumps that are below the surface of the skin are more likely to be swollen lymph nodes that indicate immune activity.  There wouldn't be very many of them and they wouldn't be obvious on the surface of the skin.

As for prostate cancer, that is only really a likely possibility if there are very few bumps, and they are located in the perineum (you can look up that location if you don't know what it is).  Unless your boyfriend is over 40, it would not be the first thing I'd consider likely.

If it is concerning, especially if it doesn't go away in a week or so, then he should check with a doctor about it.
