Bungle Inthejungle aiming for a hat trick through bagging the Windsor Castle Stakes at Ascot
The Class 1 Windsor Castle Stakes (Listed Race) has brought together some commendable runners who are lightly raced but in the course of the few outings that they have had, the thoroughbreds have proved themselves. The race will be held at Ascot over five furlongs on Tuesday, 19th June. Competing for the £31,191 prize money is the line-up of twenty-three contestants.
The race includes a candidate who will be racing his career debut today.
Bungle Inthejungle, Exceed And Excel’s two-year-old bay colt out of mare, Licence To Thrill, has claimed two out of the three career outings that he undertook.
His career debut was in the Compton Beauchamp Estates LTD E B F Maiden Stakes on 20th April at Newbury over five furlongs. As is the case with many others, he failed to clear his maiden at the first chance provided.
Getting through with the maiden was Englishman who was joined in by Smoothtalkinrascal. The 4/1 favourite of the race, Inka Surprise, parked eighth while Bungle Inthejungle ended tenth on the field of eleven.
His second career outing was at Salisbury over five furlongs on 24th May. He did not disappoint the trainer, Mick Channon, for a second time and won the Betfair Boosts Prize Money At Salisbury E B F Maiden Stakes.
He yanked away the race from the closing in rival, Jubilee Brig, who was just at a neck’s margin. The 11/10 favourite of the race, Black Monk, concluded fourth on the track of nine runners.
The two-year-old did not let go off the level that he had achieved and thus claimed the very next outing too, the third attempt of the career.
He was successful in the Brian Yeardley Continental Two Year Old Trophy (Conditions Stakes) on 22nd June at Beverley over five furlongs. Riding with Matthew Davies, the two-year-old led the runner up of the race, The Black Jacobin, by 3 ¾ lengths.
Ending third behind the winner was Top Notch Tonto.
Bungle Inthejungle will have to confront competition today but in case he keeps a firm grip on the consistency that he has been displaying time and again, there is not much that will keep him from winning the race today.
