  1. A bunny should be inside if there are neighborhood cats.

do not listen to the bunny's should not be indoors. because they SHOULD be indoors! it is dangerous for them to be outside because there are cats, wild animals etc.

  2. As long as there is plenty of shade, shelter and water.  And if it is use to company come and visit and give it a treat.  you could also get a rabbit friend so he does not get lonely.  But outside there lifespan is shortened.

  3. No, they will not survive too long outdoors. They usually die from the weather, predators, boredom and loneliness, etc.

  4. Bunnies can be both outside and inside. Just make sure your rabbit is vaccinated and has a proper habitat before moving it ouside. You need to get it a sheltered rabbit hutch and regularly get it a check up and vaccines and preventatives. Get some type of insulation and put it in the rabbit hutch like blankets and straw. Also keep the rabbit hutch out of the direct weather.

  5. NO, rabbits are indoor pets. they are likely to get attacked, mites or other health problems living outside.

I mean rabbits dont really get to be part of the family outside, case and point how you refer to him/her as an it without a name.

Why do you want to move him/her outside? Try litterbox training him/her and having him/her fixed.

Here is an article on that subject: http://www.sandiegorabbits.org/adoption/...

  6. This is a question that requires an "IF" answer.  Yes, unlike most House Rabbit Society people know, rabbits do very well outside.  They've ALWAYS been housed outdoors until in very recent years due to a push to make them seem more like household puppy dogs than small animals like chickens that we eat.  They are indeed both.

So, you can house your rabbit outdoors and it will do very well IF you house it properly.  Storey's Guide to Raising Rabbits by Bob Bennet has fabulous information on how to make a proper outdoor rabbitry.  He covers all the needs and safety precautions.  He even gives several examples of different kinds of rabbitries and makes suggestions for turning existing structures into a nice rabbitry.

My own rabbitry is an 8'x9', nice-looking garden shed with skylights, double "barn" doors, a single front door, 4 windows (two open), air vents, and a loft.  It has plenty of room for keeping food, grooming supplies, a place to sit and room for my rabbits to romp around. The whole rabbitry cleans easily.  We dump p**p into the compost bins in the garden when we clean drop pans 2 or 3 times per week.  In the summertime, it stays cool but on the hottest days I roll in a portable air conditioner.  My kids and I love going out there.  It's so nice and pretty to look at.

If anyone told my friends and neighbors our rabbits weren't part of the family because they lived outdoors, they'd laugh.  ;)

Check out that book.  You'll learn a lot and be able to come up with a proper and safe outdoor rabbitry for your pet.

Note: rabbits do not need ANY vaccinations if you live in the U.S.A.
