ok to update my last question in this catagory was what to do if my rabbit was prego, that time she wasn't bsilly me thought she was

Now see my rabbit is an outdoor rabbit she has this huge hutch and everything, but a couple days ago she got out and of corse i was bawlling but then the next day there she was right next to her hutch eating some grass ,

I was lucky right!! Anyway she was outside running around for more then 20 hours and ined to know if there is even a slight posibility she mated with a wild rabbit

And if so give me some tips to see if she is prego, that way i know to be very careful when picking her up

thanks so much

  1. You will know in about 28 days.  She will start pulling hair and making a bed for the babies.  In 32 days (from when she got out) she will have the babies.  If she is a good mommy rabbit they will be in her bed.  You can put a box in the hutch and she will pull the hair and make the bed in the box.

Be careful if any of the babies are laying outside the box.  If you reach in to put the baby in the box she might bite you (I know she is your pet).  Rabbits may protect their young.  Or if she is not a good mommy rabbit she may eat the young.  Sorry about that but it is true.

In two weeks after they are born they will be hopping all over the cage.  Rabbits typically have about 4-8 babies at a time.

  2. Well fisrt off, try taking her to the vet. If you don't find a good answer here, you will at the vet. What are the moods of your rabit? Have she been moody lately? If seh is, that might be a sign of pregnancy. But who knows? I am not a vet so I don't know for sure.

  3. Why don't you get her spayed and bring her indoors

  4. It is not possible for a domestic rabbit to mate with a wild rabbit. Domestic rabbits are way genetically different because they came from european wild rabbits not american wild rabbits. So.. there is no way your rabbit is pregnant from getting out of her cage, unless somehow there are other domestic rabbits running around. You don't have to worry about your bunny being pregant but here are some tips if she were pregnant:

    1. try not to pick her up

2 at about two weeks into her pregnancy, you can palpate her or put your arm under her and feel her stomache for babies, this is hard and usually only experienced breeders know how to do this accurately.

    3. their gestation is 28-32 days... they usually have them on the 31st day.

    I hope I've helped.

  5. i have happen to know this question from past experiences my rabbits have had about 2 litters so when she starts pick out her hair from her cheats and its bald underneth her not on her back or anything but on her tummy she is pergnit because she has to have the hair off her niples so her babies can get milk. so just if thet happens make her a nesting box made out of wood hope you have no problems and hope i helped
