Bunraku likely to stand first in Skybet Fillies’ Handicap
The Charles Hills trained bay filly, Bunraku, seems to be in better position to claim the ace title of the Skybet Fillies’ Handicap here at Windsor racecourse on Monday, July 16. The Class 4 contest over 1 mile and 67 yards is set to start at 8:10 (GMT).
The three-year-old novice runner was the 11-8 hot favourite for her last outing on a soft ground, but she could not be able to justify this tag and finished 6th against seven rivals. That was a bit disappointing for the trainer and the jockey
too.
However, the daughter of Cacique out of Wooden Doll recovered a lot in the very next race that was the Smith & Williamson Maiden Fillies’ Stakes, held at Salisbury on June 27. She nicely finished 3rd against a dozen of competitors.
Then there came the Park Hill Hospital Maiden Fillies’ Stakes that became the first ever title of the young filly’s career. That contest over 7 furlongs was held at Doncaster on July 6. Despite being the non-favourite runner, she delivered any outstanding
and impressive performance.
That victory was a great morale booster for the K. Abdulla-owned maverick sprinter. At the moment, the momentous runner is carrying immense spirit that will help her make a big impact in today’s event. She has up to 90 percent chances to finish first.
Hills has taken very wise decision to run Bunraku under Michael Hills who has been her regular jockey since the very first day of her career.
Keene Dancer is the only runner who can disturb Bunraku in the coming contest. The Sir Michael Stoute-trained chestnut filly marvellously finished first against a dozen of contestants in the Betfred Mobile Sports Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over 1 mile and ½
furlong at Windsor on July 1, 2012.
Prior to this, the daughter of Danehill Dancer out of Kinnaird had performed well in the first two races of her career.
In this situation, there will be witnessed a neck-to-neck clash between Bunraku and Keene Dancer. The contest will be exciting to enjoy. Let us turn out to Windsor. Good luck to the duo.
