How much time does it take to see the folk park? My fiance and I have reservations for the medieval dinner at night, but how early shpuld we get there to see the folk park. We are taking a train from Dublin earlier in the day. Is it fun? We're from Texas.

  1. get to the west as early as poss and tour about. at bun raite not that long maybe 1 1/2 to two hours at most. get some photos of you at the top of the castle turrets with the estuary behind it can make lovely photos. try and get into ennis the county town of clare it is full of history, tradition and most of all great irish pubs!! how long are you in the west? if you've got time and fancy seeing some real ireland go to the burren, spanish point, doolin beautiful coastal scenary (lovely pub wit traditional irish music etc) i could go on...you'll enjoy no matter what you end up doing....its just divine, that part of the world.

  2. the folk park and castle are really worth a visit.  You will want to allow a few hours to see the park and castle.

The only "drawback" for the medievel dinner...do you really want to travel all the way from America to have dinner with.... Americans? (I've nothing against americans you understand!!!)

Would you not be better off meeting some locals on a local pub?

Oh and the pub next door which claims to be Ireland's oldest pub....it's one of 7 pubs in the country which claim the same! so take it with a pinch of salt.
