Burberry Bucks looks strong for Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 17
The Mulleady trained black dog, Burberry Bucks, looks to be a strong candidate on the card of the Ladbrokes Irish Greyhound Derby Round 1 Heat 17 that is going to take place at Shelbourne Park on Saturday night, August 4. The Open Race over 550 yards will
begin at 21:15 (GMT).
The two-year-old novice runner will break from Trap 6 to take on five strong rivals for the sake of the prize money worth €250.
The dashing dog has made some glaring marks in his infant career that began on February 21, 2012. After breaking his maiden in a T2 race over 574 yards on May 14, he finished first by the huge margin of 7 lengths in the D.G.O.B.A A4 525 Round 1 Heat 1 at
Harold’s Cross on June 25.
The talented son of Crash out of Burberry Lass moved on to clinch top spot in the D.G.O.B.A A4 525 Round 2 Heat 2 at the same venue on July 2.
Having finished as the runner-up in the D.G.O.B.A A4 525 - Semi-final on July 9, the maverick sprinter marvellously brought home the title of the D.G.O.B.A A4 525 Final on July 16.
This impressive track record speaks volumes of the dog’s capabilities that he will apply to seal a sterling success in tonight’s marathon. By and large, he has up to 95 percent chances to thrive.
However, Flandys Ryan will give enough tough time to Burberry Bucks. The Byrne trained black dog has been winning with regular intervals since the very beginning of his career. He broke his maiden by winning the Makeshift @ Stud Open Unraced 525 Final with
the big margin of 5 lengths at Shelbourne Park on February 2, 2012.
The son of Boherduff Light out of Flandy moved on to win 1890 269 969 Open 350 at the same venue on April 7. From April 14 to May 12, the enthusiastic hound nicely bagged two triumphs, two runner-up positions and one third.
In this situation, Burberry Bucks will have to face tough challenge. Let us see how better he manages to cope with this. Good luck to all the six hounds.
