After winning the toss, Burgher Recreation Club chose to bat first as they wanted to put maximum runs on the board in the most important match of the tournament.
On the other hand, Colts needed to restrict the opposition on a gettable total in order to make things easier for their batsmen.
Burgher had the worst possible start to their innings as they lost their first wicket with only seven runs on the board when opener Dellon Udugamasuriya fell after scoring a short innings of five runs.
