Okay so i accidentily left my straightener on and it burnt my carpet and i am covering it up by cutting little parts of carpet from the linen closet over it. I want it to stay there so could i put super glue on the burn then pile on the carpet shags and will it work. Is it going to come up with a vaccuum? You cant see it is just moves when walked over

  1. Try washing out the burned carpet first.  Then with a razor blade gently scrap it across the burned carpet to get the burned pieces up.  If you are just going to glue fibers over the burn......  I think you would just be better off cutting a small square out of the closet and using carpet glue to glue it in where you burned it.  Super glue is going to melt the fibers of the carpet and make it feel stiff and hard.  plus it might look a little messy.  If you can, replace the little square of carpet.

  2. I would suggest sewing the piece to the carpet.  You can buy a carpet needle at a crafts or fabric store, and use a heavy, matching thread.  This way you won't have to worry about it coming up while vacuuming.  I think over time that the carpet will come up when vacuumed.  Hope this helps!

  3. wash the burnt colour, and put something over top, like a lamp.

  4. My son burned an iron shaped print into my berber style carpet...I took some fibers from extra carpet and cut them into fine pieces then used a hot glue gun to attach the fibers to the burned carpet.  It is not perfect and feels hard to the touch, but looks much better than before.  It has lasted at least a couple of years.  It is in the hall and I try to keep a throw rug over it, but it gets pushed away a lot.

  5. try washing out the burnt color first it may look better.not to sure gluing it will help
