Burned A dvd on my player/recorder won't work in my computer?

Burned a vhs to a dvd But, when I try to run it in the desktop or laptop it won't work. Is this normal

Is the dvd/dr dated? Some newer computers won't read older cd/dvd's....

Lots of things could be affecting this.

-- You burned a DVD+R and your computer only plays DVD-R.

-- You don't have a DVD player on your computer.

-- You don't have DVD software on your computer.

-- You didn't finalize the disc after you finished burning it, so it won't play anywhere else.
