Question:

Burned plastic from the tea kettle?

Boiling water and forgot... Burned for so long that the plastic parts of the kettle melted and dropped on the stove. A lot of burning-plastic smell in the kitchen overnight, just separated by a thin door from bedroom. Is this enough to harm health already? Also, what to do with the melt plastic that has stuck on the stove? thanks!

  1. replace the stove element they are fairly cheap and they just unplug from the stove.but a AUTO SHUT off kettle when the water is boiled it shuts of or if low water level it will not start

  2. My opinion. If I were to manufacture a product, and one of the ways for that product to have a repeat sale was that it would be left on the burner too long, I don't think I would want my customer to die before they got back to the store.  I've melted more than my share of kettles.  Open the window, but replace the kettle.  For your birthday ask for one that turns itself off.

On the other hand, fumes from car fires can kill you. (not my opinion, firefighter.)
