Question:

Burnham-On Sea Haven Park?

Will be visiting there in a couple of weeks with two kids, age 3 and 6. We do not drive, so what is public transport like in the area? Also are there any shops near the park to stock up on essentials? And how far is the beach from the site, is it worth walking into town to get to a better beach? Many thanks in advance. x

  1. Hi. there is a new Asda in B-O-S, although not right next to the site. it would take you about 15 minutes to walk there. There are plenty of shops in Burnham, including Boots.

here's a link to a map of Burnham that has some pics and things.

here's a link for the buses.

If you get the chance go to Brean Leisure centre with the kids, they'll love it.

    Happy Holiday:)

  2. the haven site isnt very far from the town and the beach, about 10 mins walk,m its in marine drive ( burnham on sea holiday village ) in burnham there is somerfield or a bit further down the road in highbridge about 2 miles inb opp direction there is a new asda superstore. the buses are very good, and you can travel just about anywhere! try brean leisure park, or weston super mare with its aqaurium and pier and beach.

However dont let you kids near the water apart from the fact it isnt clean, there is dangerous sinking mud ( a little girl died a couple years ago )
