Burning AVI Files to DvDs?

Does anyone know the best and the fastest way to burn a downloaded AVI file to a dvd so i can watch them on my dvd player?

ive tried things in the past, some dont work, some take forever, and some are just a trial.

Please can anyone give me something good?

  7. I use Nero. Movies can be very big, and they won't just fly through..... a big AVI takes time to burn.

    Your DVD burner as well as the DVDs you use make some difference, too.
