Burning CD from folder on desktop?

I recently got a laptop and I want to burn my MP3's from my folder onto a CD. iTunes keeps popping up saying to burn my CD form there but iTunes keeps messing up my CD's.

~How do I burn my songs form a folder on my desktop to a CD

~ If you bought them from iTunes (which means they have that little lock thing on them), can you still burn them on to a CD?

Select all the MP3 files (Ctrl + A)

Right click on the selection

Click on Send To > CD Drive

Now go to My Computer > Your CD Drive

on the left panel click on 'Write these files to CD'
