Burning DVDs on Acer Aspire 5100?

How can I burn data (music, photos, videos etc) to a blank DVD+R on my Acer? When I insert it, it doesn't appear in "My Computer" in the CD drive. Any referred websites, help forums, or advice would be much appreciated!! Thank you :)
